Biography
Kathy is elated to be practicing Primary Care in Corvallis; her approach includes wellness (diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management), women's health, hormone replacement, and pellet therapy for both men and women.
Kathy's background is in Critical Care and trauma, her career began in emergency medicine because she enjoyed the urgency and the focus it demanded. What Kathy loves most about practicing medicine, is making a difference and watching people transform their lives, and the sense of purpose playing an integral role provides her. She chose family practice as a nurse practitioner because it's a well-rounded field, allowing her to do many things and help people lead healthy lives.
Kathy is also interested in Neuroscience, how the brain works, how we process information, why we do the things we do. Her goal for her patients is to help them live their best lives, whatever that means for them.
"Medicine should be a team sport. It should be as collaborative as possible. I want there to be a relationship with my patients that includes trust, compassion, and respect."
If she could only tell patients one thing, it would be to stop eating sugar, focus on a lower carb intake, learn about healthy eating, exercise every day, get outside and let the sun touch their face. Making social connections is a critical way to curb cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression.
