LOWN Insitute Hospital Index: Ranked Top Critical Access in Montana, 4th in the Nation

We’ve been ranked 1st in Montana, and 4th nationally, as a “Socially Responsible” Critical Access Hospital by the prestigious LOWN Institute. This means that Bitterroot Health (BH) has excelled at, and is the top Critical Access Hospital in Montana, for:

  • OUTCOMES: Achieving positive clinical outcomes, having high rates of patient satisfaction, and excellent patient safety statistics.
  • EQUITY: Consistently provide patient care that is inclusive to all, contributing back to the local community through staff volunteerism, donations, and community investment, and offering equitable salaries.
  • VALUE: Providing the most cost-efficient care possible, and actively avoiding low-value services, overuse of both services and materials.

The LOWN Institute Hospitals Index considers more than 3,000 US hospitals and bases their ranking on 54 metrics across the categories of “equity, value, and outcomes.” LOWN considers Socially Responsible hospitals, entities that care for everyone in their community.

Mountain-Pacific Quality Achievement Award

This award focuses on excellence in healthcare through collaboration with healthcare professionals and advocates to ensure that the right care is provided to every person, every time. The Quality Achievement Award recognizes Bitterroot Health – Daly Hospital's commitment to quality care.

Quality Improvement Award for Heart Failure Care

This Montana Rural Healthcare Performance Improvement Network (PIN) Quality Improvement Award focuses on providing exceptional care to patients after a diagnosis of heart failure, giving the proper care to avoid readmission to the hospital. It is a multi-disciplinary effort, involving nursing, physicians and infection control. The PIN also awarded Bitterroot Health – Daly Hospital the PIN Quality Pressure Ulcer Prevention Award and the PIN Quality Pneumonia Care Award.

Hospitals & Health Networks sponsors the annual Most Wired Survey, which is an industry-standard benchmark study. The survey is designed to measure the level of IT (Internet Technology) adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems.
